Historic and artistic heritage
The house overlooks the 10th-century San Ruffino Abbey with its delightful peel of bells, is within minutes of the Crivelli quatrocentro masterpieces in Monte San Martino. The reliquary of St Antonio and the fascinating archaeological sites of Urbs Salvia and Falerone are of great importance. Assisi, Florence, Perugia, Urbino and the Montefeltro are all within easy reach. There is the annual open-air opera festival in nearby Macerata in August. Fano has jazz by the sea in July. 
Activity holidays
Fishing and shooting are local pastimes. Other things you might be interested in exploring are the mountaineering club in Amandola, riding stables on the opposite side of the valley, downhill skiing at Sassotetto and cross-country in the National Park, Amandola music festival in August, museums, local village festivals featuring local produce eg wine, mushrooms, snails, truffles etc. There is a popular golf club in Conero near Ancona. Amandola even has its own international theatre festival in late August-early September. There is horse racing at Corridonia and Montegiorgio
